Haroon has finished work on his 3rd solo album called Haroon Ka Nasha, composing, recording, producing, engineering and mixing all the songs at his personal studio “Haroon’s Turbo Charged Funky lil’ Studio.” This album shows a maturing of Haroon as a songwriter, musician, singer, lyricist and producer. Lyrically and musically this album has depth and the production is slick and creative.

Highlights on the album are the funk guitar driven Jua Khela, Big Corporation Man (A dig at modern society’s greed for profit), Jia Jaeey (A song extolling brotherhood and peace no matter what your religion or background), and the heart wrenching ballad Nahi Hah Yeh Pyaar.

On the 29th of October Haroon performed for a small but lively Pakistani audience in Stockholm. The approximately 400 strong audience was made up of Pakistani families living in Stockholm. This was Haroon’s first performance in the city. It was a freezing night but when Haroon took to the stage the theatre heated up. Members of the audience took to their feet and started singing and dancing along with the super hit songs.

Haroon belted out all his smash hits plus Awaz favourites like Mr. Fraudiay and Jadoo Ka Chiragh. The grand finale was Mahbooba with the everyone in the audience dancing and clapping along Arabic style.

After the show Haroon, Naweed (keyboards) and the crew were invited for a dinner at the Pakistan council in Stockholm. The next day members of the council took Haroon on a tour of the beautiful city of Stockholm. Haroon’s said that he was extremely grateful for all the hospitality and appreciation.

  Show for the Peace
Last month Haroon was in the beautiful city of Oslo, Norway to perform at a grand show for the King of Norway.  The purpose of the show was to help to promote peace and build bridges between the Pakistani community in Norway and the Norwegian public, and celebrate Pakistani day.  His Majesty the King of Norway was in attendance. From Pakistan the Punjab Minister of Education and Pakistani Ambassador to Norway were present.

This how was organized by a Norwegian politician of Pakistani origin, Amir Sheikh.  Amir works tirelessly to help promote peace, and build bridges between the Pakistani and Norwegian communities.  Amir said that we need more events like this to promote understanding and overcome the troubled state of the world.

Haroon said “it was a real honor to sing live for the King of Norway.  He was sitting right there in the front row and it was heartening to see him clapping along to my songs.” He added “The fact that the King of Norway personally attended shows a real commitment in dealing with the serious issues that Pakistani’s and Muslims are facing with integration growing up in European countries.  However I can’t imagine the Queen of England attending a Pakistani event in the UK to help build bridges. Maybe the British could learn a thing or two from the Norwegians”

Fifteen hundred people sang and danced the night away to popular Haroon songs such as Mahbooba, Yara, Jeekay Dekha, Goriay as well as older classics like Jadoo Ka Chiragh and Mr. Fraudiay.

Famous Pakistani guitarist Asad Ahmed (Karavan and ex-Awaz) was backing up Haroon on guitars. Naweed was on Keyboards and backing vocals.  Meanwhile Haroon is busy working in the Studio to get his third solo album “Haroon Ka Nasha” ready for release soon.
